While pulling into a Rite Aid drugstore one day, I found myself behind an 18-wheeler that made a precision turn into a parking area that was almost too small for my compact car to maneuver in, and I was amazed! Having witnessed such skill, the words that popped into my head were, “Damn, I see you baby,” as in I am totally impressed at seeing how you whipped around that tractor trailer truck like it was nothing.

I couldn’t get the image out of my head, and my eyes filled up thinking about how important long-haul truckers are, and how lonely that life must be. I’m a “blue-collar” girl by birth, so by nature, I have immense respect for those whose occupations move the economy and by definition, keep the world moving along.

As such, I respect the transportation industry immensely and I very much respect truckers because they do it ‘solo’ … for the most part, all alone with just the radio for company. The lucky ones might have a dog with them or a human companion at times.
